Local connections that last
Because our courses are rooted in the needs of local industry, students have opportunities to build real-world connections with employers during their studies. These relationships often lead to job offers, work placements, or freelance opportunities – meaning many graduates don’t need to relocate to begin their careers.
Careers development and support
Real-world experience is a vital part of building your employability. Many of our university-level courses include the chance to take part in work placements or short internships with local and regional employers. These opportunities allow you to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom, build professional skills, and gain valuable insight into the workplace.
Our dedicated Work Placement Officers are here to support you every step of the way – from helping you connect with local businesses to guiding you through the placement process.
Placements are a great way to boost your CV, build confidence, and make useful connections in your chosen field – all while studying.
Our Careers Team is here to help you plan your next steps – whether you’re looking for part-time work alongside your studies, work experience, or a full-time role after graduation.
We offer one-to-one careers guidance tailored to your ambitions. Whether you’re unsure about your options or already have a clear path in mind, our experienced Careers Advisors can support you with CV writing, interview preparation, job searching, and career planning.
You’ll also have access to our Job Shop, which connects students with a range of job vacancies, internships, and volunteering opportunities – helping you build experience while you study.
Throughout the year, we also run a variety of guest talks and industry-led workshops, giving you direct insight into different career sectors and real-life employer expectations. These sessions are a great way to explore your options and expand your professional network.
We’re committed to helping you succeed.
