The HNC in Construction Management for England is ideal for anyone looking to begin a career in the construction industry, or earn qualifications to support their experience in the industry. You’ll gain a strong introduction to the key principles of construction, project management and the regulatory and technical knowledge needed to work confidently in this fast-growing sector.

You will study with us full time for two days a week or part time for one day a week at the University and Professional Development Centre. Alongside your studies you will have the chance to gain valuable work experience during the rest of the week, helping you apply your learning in real projects and build a clear pathway into employment.

The programme is closely linked to the wider Built Environment campus of West Suffolk College, which has been officially recognised by the Government as a Construction Technical Excellence College (CTEC). This recognition highlights the quality of our training, our strong employer partnerships and our commitment to supporting the region’s construction workforce. For students, it means greater access to industry links, real work opportunities and a learning environment shaped by current sector needs.

Study in a vibrant and welcoming space at our University and Professional Development Centre, designed to support learners of all ages and backgrounds. From our well-equipped library and quiet study zone to social spaces like Costa Coffee, to dedicated computer areas and an innovative XR Lab, you’ll have everything you need to excel. You’ll have access beyond timetabled hours, giving you the freedom to study, collaborate and work on projects whenever inspiration strikes.
