Extracurricular Opportunities

Our University Centre in the heart of Bury St Edmunds offers a vibrant variety of extracurricular initiatives designed to develop your interests, connect with your peers, broaden your horizons, and equip you with skills employer’s value.

Represent your cohort, share feedback with staff, and play a role in shaping the student experience. As a Student Rep, you can help run open days, welcome new students, and speak at events, all skills that will take you further in your career and help others do the same.

The Edmunds Open Lecture Series offers free, thought-provoking public lectures delivered by academics, authors, and industry experts throughout the year. Topics range from mental health and creativity to politics and social change. A great way to expand your thinking and meet others across disciplines.

Higher education students have access to our award-winning XR Lab, where you can explore virtual reality, 3D modelling, and simulation tools. Some courses integrate XR directly into the curriculum, and students can also volunteer for projects using this technology.

Tailored enrichment programmes such as ‘Career Ready’ run throughout the year, helping you improve academic writing, presentation skills, time management, and research techniques.
